Riverside County

By The Numbers

With a growing workforce, world-class logistics infrastructure, and direction connections to global markets, Riverside County offers the scale, talent, and strategic advantages companies need to invest, innovate, and grow.

Local Semiconductor Industry & Supply Chain

Riverside County offers a growing semiconductor and advanced electronics ecosystem that supports multiple stages of the industry value chain, including photonics, compound semiconductors, semiconductor equipment, advanced packaging, microelectronics manufacturing, and integrated circuit design.

This concentration of capabilities creates opportunities for collaboration, supplier development, and technology commercialization while reducing supply chain risk. Combined with strategic access to Southern California's logistics network, a large and skilled workforce, research partnerships, and competitive operating costs, Riverside County provides Taiwanese semiconductor and adjacent technology companies with an attractive platform to establish U.S. operations, expand manufacturing capacity, and serve North American customers.

Approximately 40 percent of imported goods moving through the Los Angeles and Long Beach port complex travel through Riverside County, making the region a critical distribution and supply chain hub for manufacturers serving North America.

What sets Riverside County apart is the strength of its adjacent industries. The County's established advanced manufacturing, aerospace and defense, medical device, clean energy, and logistics sectors create opportunities for collaboration, supplier development, and technology commercialization. Semiconductor companies can leverage access to customers, partners, and end markets across multiple high-growth industries, helping accelerate innovation and reduce supply chain risk.

Below are some of the Photonic Compound Semiconductors and Fabless Semiconductors in Riverside County, as well as Electronics and Semiconductor supply chain companies.

Foreign Trade Zones (FTZ)

U.S. Foreign-Trade Zones are considered outside of U.S. commerce for Customs purposes. This enables companies to defer duty payments on merchandise until it is entered into U.S. commerce. If the merchandise is subsequently re-exported from the FTZ, no Customs entry is filed, and no duty paid on the merchandise. The U.S. Foreign-Trade Zones program offers substantial advantages to U.S.-based manufacturers and distributors, many of which are not available under free trade zone regimes abroad. In general, merchandise in a zone may be: assembled, exhibited, cleaned, manipulated, manufactured, mixed, processed, relabeled, repackaged, repaired, salvaged, sampled, stored, tested, displayed, and destroyed.
